Go Gold!

Go Gold with Golden Milk!

How many of you love your morning cup of Joe? Well, 'tis the season for a shift! The weather is changing & so many people are feeling a little under the weather. The good thing is that more people than ever are looking for healthier alternatives to boosting their immune system. Well, if that's you, try this family favorite!

My 13-year old son loves golden milk & even makes requests for me to make it on a daily basis. Feeling a little stuck & tired of the symptoms & effects of over the counter meds for the family? Golden milk makes autumn, playing in the leaves, spending time with family, & cold & rainy days even better!...& it's simple to make!

You can prepare a container of turmeric paste (ground turmeric & black pepper) or add the ingredients per cup. Regardless, this will soon become part of your family tradition. Enjoy!

Benefits:

  • Turmeric milk helps build immunity.

  • Gives relief from a cough and cold.

  • It is a good remedy for digestive problems.

  • It is a liver tonic.

  • It is an excellent blood purifier.

  • Clarifies the skin.

  • Gives relief from autoimmune diseases.

  • Can prevent or improve the symptoms of various diseases like cancer, type 2 diabetes, inflammatory diseases, metabolic diseases, neurological diseases & more.

Known as the “spice of life” in India, turmeric seems to be considered at the moment as one of the most powerful herbs in the world.

  • To make turmeric paste:

  • Pour the water into a small pan and bring to a boil.

  • Finely grate the ginger and add it to the pan together with the turmeric powder, cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg and coconut oil.

  • Stir continuously on a medium-low heat for about 3-4 minutes. If the paste is too thick, add a small splash of water and continue stirring.

  • Give the paste to the clean jars, seal and let cool. It will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks.

To make the Golden Milk, gently heat a cup of nut milk or dairy alternative of your choice (in a pot or kettle). The milk should be lukewarm and too hot. Whisk in 1 generous teaspoon of the turmeric paste and the honey or another sweetener of your choice. Serve immediately.

Enjoy!
